🧭 Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in contributing to Boondocking Magazine LLC.
We’re proud to publish stories, photography, and insights from people who live, travel, and build their lives around the open road.
This page explains what happens after you submit your work, how our review process operates, and what you can expect as a valued contributor.
📬 1️⃣ Submission Review Process
Once your content is received through our online form or by email, our editorial team will review it for fit, clarity, and quality.
We consider every submission carefully — whether it’s your first piece or you’ve contributed before.
Review typically includes:
- A check for originality, readability, and alignment with our magazine’s focus.
- Light editing for grammar, flow, or formatting (if accepted).
- A determination of whether it’s best suited for print, digital, or social publication.
Average response time: 2–4 weeks.
If your piece is a good fit, we’ll contact you directly by email with next steps and a potential publication timeline.
✍️ 2️⃣ Editing & Revisions
Our editorial team may make minor adjustments for clarity, structure, or space.
If significant changes are needed, we’ll reach out before publishing to make sure you’re comfortable with the edits.
We never alter your message or tone — our goal is to help your story shine while fitting the magazine’s style and layout.
🪶 3️⃣ Acceptance & Publication
If your content is accepted, you’ll receive an email confirmation and an approximate release window (print or digital).
You’ll also receive:
- A Contributor Credit line (your name, city/state, and optional website or social media handle).
- A preview notice when your feature is scheduled to go live.
We’ll notify you when your work is published so you can share it with your community.
🚫 4️⃣ Declined Submissions
If your submission isn’t selected, please don’t be discouraged.
Sometimes a story may not fit an upcoming issue or theme, but we keep exceptional work on file for future consideration.
We don’t always send individual decline notices, but you’re welcome to resubmit new work in the future.
⚖️ 5️⃣ Rights, Ownership & Reprints
You retain full ownership of your work.
By submitting to Boondocking Magazine LLC, you grant us a non-exclusive license to publish, edit, and promote your material in print, digital, or social formats.
You’re free to:
- Repost or republish your content elsewhere, anytime.
- Share your work on personal blogs, social channels, or other outlets — just mention that it originally appeared in Boondocking Magazine.
🧾 6️⃣ Required Forms
All contributors must complete our standard legal agreements before publication:

📸 Photo / Model Release Form (only required if identifiable people appear in photos)
These ensure that both you and Boondocking Magazine LLC are protected regarding ownership and publishing rights.
🌟 7️⃣ Contributor Credit & Exposure
Every contributor is acknowledged with a byline — your name, city/state, and optional link to your website or social media.
We may also tag you in related social media posts (with your consent) to help your work reach a wider audience.
While submissions are voluntary and unpaid, publication in Boondocking Magazine offers national exposure among passionate outdoor, RV, and off-grid readers.
